Ralph Lauren 1:8 scale model cars

Ralph Lauren is as famous for his breathtaking collection of exotic cars as his style defining clothing range. His collection of cars is so large and rare that it can be compared to a museum. Mortals like us can only dream of owning such a fascinating collection or even become a part of it. The designer’s legendary collection of vintage cars has earlier transpired a Sporting Watch, inspired by his 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic coupe and now Ralph Lauren Home is introducing a series of four model cars one-eighth of the size of the original for the upcoming holiday season.

These cars include some of the most formidable names in the iconic designer’s award-winning collection which have been displayed in the Louvre Museum. The models include the 1938 Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic Coupe, the 1996 McLaren F1 LM, the 1960 Ferrari 250 GTO and the 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.

To create these impressive prototypes, each car was first digitally scanned resulting in details that are accurate to one tenth of a millimeter over the entire length of the original masterpiece. Nealy 3,000 hours of hard skilled manual work by a small team of model makers has gone into building each of these prototypes, which is about the same amount of time required for the complete restoration of a full size classic car. The price of each of these stunning hand-crafted models is $9,500.

You can order one of these online as well as purchase them directly from the stores. The model cars would indeed make a perfect Christmas gift for the auto enthusiasts and collectors.
