Back in 1842 on the Lake d’Iseo, a sudden storm wreaks what appears to be irreparable havoc; it damaged boats, dishearten fisherman with no means to work with. But a skilled young carpenter Pietro Riva managed to repair most of the boats, earning himself the esteem and admiration of the localites. There Pietro opened its shipyard ‘Riva’, which is now the iconic brand of the Ferretti Group. Now at the 170th anniversary of the historic shipyard Riva, we witness the launch of its first all-aluminum, newest flagship, and the largest up to date yacht, the Riva 122’ Mythos. However, with the use of complex, 3-dimensional glass that impressively characterizes its exterior profile, the Mythos 122’ actually represent a larger scale continuation of Riva’s 86’ Domino.
The Riva 122’ Mythos perfectly transfers the elegance and clean lines featured by all Riva yacht models to a new line crafted entirely in lightweight aluminum alloy. The 37 metre long and 7.60 metre wide yacht will deliver a top speed of 27 knots, with a cruising speed of 25 knots.
Designed by Officina Italiana Design's Mauro Micheli in collaboration with Advanced Yacht Technology ‘AYT’ which is Ferretti Group’s naval design and research center, and Centro Stile Ferretti group, the first Riva 122’ Mythos will be produced by CRN shipyard in Ancona for an affluent Brazilian client.
Featuring state-of-the-art technology, this largest aluminum planning yacht ever produced by Riva comes equipped with an active stabilization system that provides comfort, and a shaft line propulsion system with propellers designed for the utmost efficiency.
The large main deck cockpit features a spacious sun pad and a table to host 10 people, along with the salon and dinette. While the lower deck, amidships, hosts the owner’s lavish suite and the guest cabins and the crew area.
Accessible from the external ladder, the sun deck has been especially designed to provide utmost comfort to guests, as it features a Jacuzzi swimming pool surrounded by spacious sun-bathing sofas, with an exclusive dinette area and a foldable table.
However, the brand Riva which is celebrated for the world over for beautiful wooden boats earlier collaborated with renowned fashion brand Gucci to craft a special edition luxury speedboat 'Aquariva by Gucci'.
