Since then he has successfully transitioned his skills in movies & has registered numerous hits like Mrs. Doubtfire, Flubber, Night in a Museum, Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting etc. He has won the Academy Award in the Best Supporting actor category for his role in the movie Good Will Hunting. He has also been honored with several Golden Globe, Grammy & Emmy awards.

He married his son’s caretaker Marsha Garces in 1989 & the union produced two children. The almost 30 year old marriage ended in 2008 when the couple failed to bury their differences. Williams again decided to take the plunge into married life with graphic designer Susan Schneider in 2011. He has suffered a lot due to his addiction to drugs & alcohol. He went in to rehab to kick his cocaine addiction & was reportedly successful. However he is still trying to overcome his over dependence on alcohol.
