Say “I Do” with 500 Swarovski crystals-studded wedding cake
A giant wedding cake, adorned with a previously unsurpassed 500 Swarovski crystals and topped by crystal figurines of a pair of blue and green birds, is enthralling the crowds in the picturesque southern Italian town of Herculaneum, courtesy its sheer size and grandeur. Fifth edition of the “Bride Villa” event, being held from February 4-6 at Signorini Villa, is playing host to this gargantuan delicacy. The concept of bejeweled novelty confectionary is not new. We have had many past instances of designers using precious stones like diamonds to lend a sparkle to their melt-in-your-mouth creations.
This dazzling record-breaking masterpiece cost its creator, famous pastry designer Laura Aguglia, an excruciating 36 hrs of labor. Comprising four delectable layers of confection, satin ribbons in the hues of blue and green, 500 Swarovski stones and 2 large crystal birds, this is one symbol of marital joy you would love to lay your hands on – albeit at a considerable price of 6,000 Euros ($8,178).
