Sex and the City Townhouse Sells For $9.85 M
The grand Manhattan townhouse at 64 Perry Street, where Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw allegedly lived, was known to be the dream house where Sex and City fans have always fantasized about living. Unfortunately, everyone can’t live their dreams, as the townhouse which was recently listed for $9.65 million with Sotheby’s brokers Steve Dawson and Joshua Wesoky, has been sold to an anonymous buyer for $9.85 million.
Reportedly, both the sellers and owners have kept their identities a secret, as city records confirms that the property which was under the ownership of 64 Perry LLC got transferred to MMKK Perry Street Realty LLC, instead of listing owner’s real name. It can be expected that the new owner will be as popular as the house, where Carrie Bradshaw lived.
Built in 1866 and designed by famous architect Robert Mook, this 4-storey townhouse sitting on an area of 4,100 Square-foot features 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. And, this historic gem will offer its new owner the ceiling moldings along with floors of herringbone wood decorated with exquisite inlaid borders and six fireplaces boasting carved marble mantels. However, the home is waiting to be restored to its original grandeur.
Besides Sex and the City, this period townhouse located near the intersection with famous Bleecker Street in Manhattan’s well-heeled West Village neighborhood, has also been featured in the Woody Allen’s romantic fantasy film Alice. Further, it has also been the address of renowned American fashion consultant and television personality Tim Gunn, who resided in building’s upstairs apartment for a total of 16 years.
