Designed to deliver superb sound, the Moon 700i integrated amplifier from the house of Canadian electronics firm Simaudio is fully differential dual-mono design, rated at 175 watts/channel into 8 ohms or 350 watts/channel into 4 ohms. Part of the company’s MOON Evolution Series, the 700i integrated amp aims to bring to life the true emotion of music. The output stages are powered by six bipolar transistors per channel, which guarantee amazing gain-linearity, wider bandwidth and a lower noise floor. The DC-coupled circuits account for flat frequency response. The circuit board features four layers of pure copper tracings that make for very short signal paths and low levels of noise.

The Moon 700i boasts M-eVOL2 volume control, with an exceptional 530 steps that account for very precise level adjustment. A software feature called M-Lock lets audiophiles set and save a specific volume for each line input. The new MOON output transistors help deliver tighter bass performance. The 700i has the RS-232 port for full unsolicited bidirectional feedback and firmware updates, and the IR input for external control.
