Originally named as Reginald Kenneth Dwight, Sir Elton John was born in 1947 in Middlesex, England. He was introduced to rock music by his mother and began playing the piano when he was just four. He later joined the band called Bluesology and got an opportunity to develop his musical talent. His most famous records include Don’t Shoot Me; I’m Only the Piano Player and Madman across the Water. He is deeply involved with AIDS charities, donating much of his concert profits to the cause.
Elton even founded his own charity organization, the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 which offered funds programs for AIDS prevention and provides people living with AIDS health and social services. He raised 40 million dollars for the causes that Diana was most passionate about as a tribute to her. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II on 24 Feb,1988 for his good deeds. He currently plays most nights at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Throughout his life, he has battled addictions to alcohol and cocaine. He is obsessed with photography and has a great collection of photographs that he started collecting from the age of 21. He also enjoys logging his new acquisitions in a book and filing them away in alphabetical order.
