Smith & Wesson celebrates 75th Anniversary of the .357 Magnum
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the introduction of the .357 Magnum, U.S.-based Smith & Wesson has introduced a limited edition, beautifully engraved Model 27 revolver that’s sure to interest collectors and shooters from around the globe. Covered with American scrolls, the Smith & Wesson 75th Anniversary Model 27 flaunts hand drawn artwork by David Mishichak, the company’s master engraver. The eye-catching design, with the bright blue finish, pays tribute to the historic anniversary of this legendary cartridge. James Debney, President of Firearms Business for Smith & Wesson, said…
Throughout the history of the company, Smith & Wesson has been a leader in many of the industry’s firsts. Both the .357 Magnum and the Model 27 are living examples of this and they demonstrate our company’s innovative mind-set and willingness to stretch the boundaries.
Made of carbon steel, the six-shot .357 Magnum/.38 S&W Special revolver enjoys a 6.5” barrel, an engraved wood grip, pinned patridge front sight and a micro-adjustable rear sight. Only 500 examples of the Smith & Wesson’s 75th Anniversary Model 27 have been made, with each bearing a unique serial number between SFY0001 and SFY0500. The classic handgun will be delivered to the buyer in a wooden glass top presentation case.
Collectors and shooting enthusiasts can bid on the serial number SFY0001 at GunBroker. The proceeds from the auction will go to USA Shooting to support USA Shooting Team athletes and programs.
