Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca wins the world’s best restaurant honor
Just in case one is vacationing in Spain, and looking to taste innovative Catalan cuisine, we would recommend dining at the El Celler de can Rosa, which has been picked as the world’s best restaurant by the Restaurant Magazine of the UK. This win came after Spanish restaurant surpassed the now infamous Noma restaurant of Denmark, Osteria Francescana of Italy both of which occupy the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. This ultra-modern eatery is owned by the 3 Roca brothers, Joan, Jordi, and Josep who are also famous as being highly humorous in nature apart from being the innovative chefs who run the El Cellar restaurant.
The Noma restaurant was traditionally known to be the top dining joint in the world, and carried along a 3-year reign before changing spot to No.2 this year. With the virus issue breaking out, the Nordic cuisine restaurant took a backseat in the ratings. However, the El Cellar de Can Roca restaurant is known for it’s innovative take on Catalan cuisine and the techniques they use for creating their signature dishes. The most famous perhaps, is the caramelized olive which act as starter before the ensuring courses after that. One can also perhaps try the Asparagus with truffles which is another specialty dish of the outlet.
The remaining restaurants which occupy the top 5 list published by Restaurant Magazine, UK include Denmark’s Noma at No.2, Osteria Francescana from Italy at No.3, Mugaritz from Spain at No.4, and the Eleven Madison Park restaurant from the United States at No.5. The country with the highest number of entries in this list, was France which had 6 entries but it’s top most restaurant was placed at Rank 16 on the list. However, Spain which is the base country for the El Celler de Can Roca oulet, had 3 restaurants in the top 10 of the Restaurant Magazine’s list this year.
