Small on size and big on sound, that’s what the latest offering from Spendor claims to be. The SA1, combines all-new drive units in a sealed cabinet with a range of luxury wood veneers and deep lacquer finishes providing the added glamour to the two-way speaker which also comes with matching stands finished in black satin lacquer with matching wood inlays. a 15cm Spendor-built mid/bass unit comes with a magnesium alloy chassis and ep38 polymer cone and a long-excursion motor system that works in sync with the 22mm tweeter that combines the extended frequency response of a small diaphragm with the low frequency characteristics of a larger diaphragm to give stable low distortion response over a very wide frequency range. Paired with a high-quality single-wire crossover, these drivers allow the SA1 to deliver a frequency range of 75Hz-20kHz. The 30.5cm tall speakers retail for £1500 a pair.
