The $45,000 anti-terrorist armored electric car doubles as a golf cart
armored golf cart 1 With the Mumbai terror attacks, it was clear that the luxury establishments were the new targets and required new countermeasures. So in an effort to set the standards up a bit, India has built a Metaltech Anti-Terrorist Assault Cart to withstand grenade attacks, probably on the golf course. The battery operated, $45,000 Anti-Terrorist Assault Cart (Atac) with firing ports resembles some bulletproof golf buggy. Weighing just under half a ton, the Atac has bulletproof windows and contains numerous firing ports; and is able to move effortlessly in corridors and lifts. The vehicle can last for six hours on a single charge - with a top speed of 25km/h (15mph). It is still hard to say whether it would be of any help in assisting Indian armed personnel, but we were thinking what might follow next…room service with explosive detectors maybe.
