Born in Clinton, Oklahoma in 1961, country singer, songwriter, musician Toby Keith spent the 90s as a solid country star with a considerable chart success. He became a genuine phenomenon with his politically charged statements in his controversial written song Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American), in reaction to the events of 9/11 which struck a chord with military personnel. With several chart-topping hits to his credit so far, Keith has been on winning streak that shows no signs of slowing down.
Toby started playing music at very young age after being inspired by Merle Haggard and other musicians who worked in his grandmother’s supper club, and. Before he decided to pursue a career in music industry, he even worked in the oil industry and played defense in the USFL football league. To start with his music career, Toby signed with Mercury Records in early 90s, and recorded his self-titled debut album that went platinum, followed by equally successful records, Boomtown and Blue Moon with popular hits as ‘Who’s that Man’ and ‘Me Too’. Named as Entertainment of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, Toby achieved addition surge of media attention for his public clash with the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks, Natalie Maines. In his music career, he also did award winning duos with Sting, and made some life threatening things; he played 18 shows for U.S troops in Persian Gulf, as part of the U.S.O Tour.
Versatile Keith, he also starred in big screen comedy Beer for My Horses which was not all successful at the box-office, but he continued to thrive as a performer with his toughest tours, featuring dates in the United States and Europe.
