While there are few celebrities whose Oscars have changed hands and even been offered for sale at auctions, there are actors like Tom Hanks who sure knows how to treasure their trophies. The two-time Oscar award winner has few Emmys to his credit. And at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, the actor displayed his car customization skills by showing off his fifth Emmy, for producing the HBO political movie “Game Change,” at the 64th annual Emmy Awards. The actor celebrated his winning moment by taping his Emmy award as hood ornament onto the hood of his Lincoln car with household sticky tape, in true Rolls-Royce style.
The “Forrest Gump” actor tweeted a video to his fans titled, “How I’m getting around these days,” with his golden Emmy squarely atop the hood of the car.
Actress Julianne Moore too tweeted on ‘Game Change’ Emmy Win by saying, “I think @tomhanks and I will make out in the backseat of this car on the way to the Emmys.”
The legendary actor is known for driving electric cars than the showy rides. For someone who owns one of the most expensive house in LA sprawling 14,500-square-foot, a Chevrolet Tahoe and E-Box electric car seems like an unlikely choice for a ride. The aactor was earlier in the news for destroying his electric car, in the New Yorker piece, to which the lashed out by saying, “My electric car recently crossed fifty thousand miles on the odometer with its original battery but without so much as a splash of gasoline.” Whatever that might mean, we sure loved the Emmy award as a unique hood ornament that reminds us of the most expensive Rolls-Royce hood ornaments ever made.
