Designed as part of the great reconstruction of Paris; an elegant 1,979-seat opera house Palais Garnier, named such in recognition of its opulence and its architect Charles Garnier, is truly a symbol of Paris and probably the most famous opera house in the world. Regarded unquestionably a masterpiece of the first rank, Palais Garnier is also renowned for its ceiling area which surrounds the chandelier, and contains a new 1964 painting by Marc Chagall which depicts scenes from operas by 14 composer. Now, in tribute to the 4 famous composers whose operas actually inspired the famous Jewish Russian-French painter Marc Chagall, the Swiss manufacture of prestige watches Vacheron Constantin has created a one-of-a-kind timepiece, the Chagall et l’Opera de Paris Tribute to 4 Composers watch that faithfully reproduces Chagall’s painting on the center of the Palais Garnier Opera House ceiling.
With its artistic, colorful, round enamel dial inserted in a 40mm yellow gold case, this high end watch celebrates the irresistible power of love with the eternal theme so common to four legendary composers, including L. van Beethoven, Giuseppe Verdi, Christoph Willibald von Gluck and Georges Bizet.
Actually, the Chagall et l’Opera de Paris – Tribute to the Great Composers, an artistic watch kept in the watchmaker’s private collection inspired the Vacheron Constantin to create an entire series of 11 pieces, each representing the work of one of the composers depicted in Chagall’s painting.
Already been purchased, the newest model Chagall et l’Opera de ParisTribute to 4 Composers comes as the 5th piece of the series, and is powered by a Calibre 2460 self-winding movement, which is visible through a sapphire crystal case-back, after removing a golden cover with stylish engravings of composers’ name.
