Update: Kobe Bryant calling off divorce with wife Vanessa.
Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant met each other in November 1999. She was at that time working as a backup dancer, and he was working on a never-released album at the same studio. They did engagement 6 months later, in May 2000 and married on April 18, 2001, though most of Kobe's parents, close friends and teammates did not attend. They remained married even after sexual assault allegations were brought upon the NBA star by a 19-year-old hotel employee in 2003. Kobe then publicly admitted to the affair, denying the "encounter" was not consensual.
