Vintage Eames lounge chairs gets a vintage makeover with Maharam upholstery

Back in the 1950’s, the Eames brothers had created some pieces of furniture, which later gained legendary status, and popularity of its aesthetic design and comfort level. After more than half a century, these chairs are being bought back, albeit with new aesthetics, and finer build quality by Maharam and Herman Miller. Maharam, however was the one to introduce many fabrics since the 1960’s, and was the brain behind recreating these legendary furniture with new makeover fabrics. Introducing these bold designs and colors, as well as retaining a classical version on the sidelines, Herman Miller has done a perfect job of giving the furniture a rebirth.

These above mentioned designs of chair, was first created by Charles and Ray Eames in the year 1956. Rebuilt by Hermen Miller using Brazilian rosewood and aluminum, Maharam has pitched in with its unique design and specially created fabric called ‘Repeat dot’. It comprises of 55% cotton, 24% polyester, and 21% rayon. The conditions used to produce this fabric, is known to comparatively more environment friendly. Fropm the 2 collections seen here, these chairs are the ones built with a conformity to abstract modernism.

These above design which comprises of the chair and foot stool, uses a rarer variety of fabrics. The wooden components in this furniture is much greater with the use pattern Brazilian rosewood, which happens to be one of the rarest and most precious pieces of fabric on earth. Also industrial grade aluminum has been used, upholstered by ‘Maharam Voyage’, which is a 100% specially blended woolen fabric. Henceforth, the looks of the set also takes a more classical bend, with the absence of too many designs or bright shades on the fabrics.
