Virgin Limited Edition adds a luxury Kenyan Safari Camp to its portfolio
Billionaire Richard Branson’s luxury collection of unique vacation retreats around the world, Virgin Limited Edition has recently announced that it will introduce a new property, Mahali Mzuri in Kenya, to its eclectic portfolio. Chosen for the charming locations and arresting surroundings, the Virgin Limited Edition’s exclusive portfolio of retreats includes the famous Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, The Roof Gardens in London, and the Makepeace island. Since, the uber-rich love to spend vacations in more exotic and exclusive locations which offer them something out of the ordinary, this latest addition will attract those who value excellent service, tailored experiences and non-traditional hotel settings.
Location: Situated within the Motorogi Conservancy in the northern region of Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara ecosystem, Mahali Mzuri is about 240 km distant west of Nairobi.
Mahali Mzuri, meaning ‘beautiful place’, will be a luxury Kenyan Safari camp which is due to open next year. The tented camp will comprise of 12 luxury tent suites, and will cater to a maximum of 24 guests at one time. Each tented suite will sit on a raised platform, and includes spacious bedroom with attached bathroom, sitting area and terrace with spectacular views over the landscape. The rates to this camp are quite affordable, $580 per night for a single person, which includes all meals, drinks and daily game drives, along with the limitless access to the famous conservancies of Olare Orok and Motorogi.
Attractions: Travelers will be busy with twice daily game drives and guided walks throughout the Motorogi and Olare Orok Conservancies, which together cover 13,500 hectares of land. Other highlights include an infinity pool, spa treatment facility and special guided tours to the local villages to learn about Maasai Tribe.
The Virgin Limited Edition is dedicated to minimizing the conservancy’s natural environmental footprint, encouraging low density tourism, and the number of game vehicles is decisively controlled within the beautiful conservancy. In addition, after the Mahali Mzuri camp will start, it will generate employment for over 50 staff with a commitment to keep procurement and recruitment as local as possible.
