Volkswagen Touareg Edition X mark the off-road capable SUV Touareg’s 10th anniversary
Back in 2002, the German automaker Volkswagen produced a mid-size crossover SUV, the Touareg ‘pronounced TOUR-regg’ which was named after the Tuareg people, a Berber-speaking group in North Africa. Developed in conjunction with Porsche, this stylish and luxurious off-road capable SUV that could handle like a sports car made its debut at the 2002 Paris Auto Salon, introducing Volkswagen to the world of Sports Utility. And, in celebration of its 10th anniversary, Volkswagen has now introduced a sleeker, lighter, nimbler, and in-all a pleasant special edition version of the VW Touareg, the Edition X. Boasting a number of exclusive features that adds to the vehicle’s luxury and excitement to commemorate the occasion, the Touareg Edition X is possibly its best ever version.
On the outside, the vehicle’s luscious Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect optional exterior finish and standard 19-inch Moab alloy wheels certainly add to its style.
While the bi-xenon headlights, silver anodized roof rails, panoramic sunroof, tinted side, rear windows, and the ‘Chrome & Style’ designer pack makes its real looker.
On the inside, the Edition X boasts exclusive Nappa leather trim in amber brown color, along with special braid embossed finish. Further, the doors and instrument panel have decorative inlays in real ebony and the sill feature an illuminated Touareg X lettering. And, the color coordinated stitching on the leather steering wheel, fabric floor mats and gear lever completes the lavish interior package.
Notably, buyers will get various engine and drivetrain options, including a hybrid drivetrain. The price range of the Touareg Edition X starts at $43,425, and ends with base hybrid one costing $62,055.
