Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute marks the 50th anniversary of the first spacegoing chronograph
Established back in 1884, the Swiss manufacturer of technically-oriented watches, mostly mechanical and electronic chronometers, Breitling have so far been offering high-end luxury watches usually oriented towards three categories; SuperOcean, Navitimer and Breitling for Bentley. Over the times, we have seen some of its very best examples like the ‘Ice Speed Record’ chronograph for Bentley, the Airwolf, Supersports ultra-light body watch, and the Breitling Emergency chronograph with distress transmitter. Ever since its inception, the firm has played a crucial role in the development of the wristwatch chronograph and is the world’s only major watch brand to equip all of its models with chronometer-certified movements. Breitling, now one of the last remaining independent Swiss watch brands is widely known for its Navitimer Cosmonaute chronograph, which became the first ever wrist instrument to share in the conquest of space by accompanying the Aurora 7 flight that orbited the earth, some 50 years ago today, on 24th May 1962. Now, to celebrate the 50th proud anniversary of the historical first space going wristwatch chronograph, the brand has released a limited edition Navitimer Cosmonaute.

Jaeger-LeCoultre limited edition Diamond Jubilee Reverso watch
