Wendy Mccaw, the former wife of telecom pioneer Craig Mccaw is herself a billionaire, a leading political figure and an important voice on conservation of wildlife. She is a Stanford graduate, where she met Craig.  After their marriage in 1974, they co-founded Mccaw Cellular and sold it to AT&T in 1994 to turn into overnight multi-millionaires. She is a staunch defender of animal rights and has donated millions to the cause. In 2000, she bought the Santa Barbara News-Press, from the New York Times. Ms. Mccaw is the recipient  of 2004 Michael Douglas Philanthropist of the Year Award. After divorcing Craig Mcacaw, Ms. Mccaw got engaged with  Arthur von Wiesenberger and now lives in Santa Barbara.
